Firepunk Billet 68RFE 4C Reaction Thrust Washer | Multi-Thickness Upgrade

One of the most common failure points we see in 68RFE teardowns is the OEM plastic thrust washer located on top of the 4C reaction ring gear. Under load, this washer fatigues, wears thin, and often breaks apart. When it does, debris circulates through the unit and can quickly lead to catastrophic transmission damage.

The Firepunk Billet 68RFE 4C Reaction Thrust Washer was designed to eliminate this failure entirely. Machined from solid 6061-T6 billet aluminum, this component replaces the factory plastic washer with a rigid, durable solution capable of handling high thrust loads without deformation or breakage.

Engineered oil slots improve fluid flow to the 4C clutch pack, promoting better lubrication, improved load distribution, and more consistent clutch apply compared to the factory design. This helps stabilize clutch performance and extend component life under heavy use.

To allow proper setup and endplay control, Firepunk billet thrust washers are available in multiple thickness options including .100, .105, .110, .115, and .121. They can be purchased individually to dial in a specific build or as a complete thickness kit for shops that want flexibility on the bench.
