Here at Firepunk, we are always looking for ways to go faster. But one of the biggest things people overlook as we keep pushing these trucks is safety. We have seen and heard plenty of horror stories about the Cardan joint failing and the damage it can cause. When that joint fails, it can break transmission cases, wrap up wiring, puncture fuel lines and cause fires.

We designed this driveshaft loop to help minimize the damage caused by that failure. The loop mounts in the 2 transmission crossmember bolt holes with the provided bolts for a simple install.

Disclaimer: The "Q" Loop is designed to minimize damage from a Cardan joint failure. It is NOT guaranteed to prevent all damage. We often see the transfer case broken when the center pin in the Cardan joint breaks and the two U-joints bind, leaving it no choice but to break the transfer case. The "Q" Loop's intended purpose is to keep a broken driveshaft from spinning against the transmission case, as well as the fuel lines, brake lines and wiring harness that run beside it on the frame, since there have been many reports of fires from punctured fuel lines. We recommend replacing your front driveshaft every 100k miles as preventive maintenance and running the "Q" Loop as an insurance policy against a very expensive repair if the driveshaft does fail.
